This database currently contains more than 1,700 recommendations sourced from over 70 reports on human rights issues relevant to British Columbia. Each search result contains information about the recommended human rights action, the report it came from, the groups affected by the recommendation, the target audience called on to respond to the recommendation and, where relevant, the location that the recommendation refers to.
You can search for recommendations from across all reports included in the database based on key criteria, or you can opt to view all recommendations associated with a single report. The database does not contain information about the implementation status of individual recommendations. Confirmation of the implementation status of any specific recommendation is a complex process that is subject to interpretation. For information about the implementation status of any specific recommendation, we recommend you contact the organization or author responsible for the report and/or the duty bearer* or body responsible for implementing the recommendation.
*”Duty bearer” here refers to persons or organizations with particular obligations or responsibility to respect, uphold and obey human rights laws. For example, under the B.C. Human Rights Code, duty bearers include employers, landlords and service providers.
