Recommendation 70:
We call upon the federal government to provide funding to the Canadian Association of Archivists to undertake, in collaboration with Aboriginal peoples, a national review of archival policies and best practices to:
- Determine the level of compliance with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the United Nations Joinet-Orentlicher Principles, as related to Aboriginal peoples’ inalienable right to know the truth about what happened and why, with regard to human rights violations committed against them in the residential schools.
- Produce a report with recommendations for full implementation of these international mechanisms as a reconciliation framework for Canadian archives.

Increase court oversight of MCFD’s efforts to identify less disruptive measures by adding the following provisions to the CFCSA:
- The court shall not make an order removing the child from the care of a parent or guardian unless the court is satisfied that less disruptive measures, including services to promote the integrity of the family, have been attempted, refused by the parent or would be inadequate to protect the child;
- Where the court determines that it is necessary to remove the child from the care of a parent or guardian, the court shall, before making an order, consider whether it is possible to place the child with a person or group in accordance with the order of preference of placements.

In its first year in operation, the BC Human Rights Commission should prioritize stigma-auditing areas of law and policy that most directly impact highly stigmatized populations, including, but not limited to:
- public space governance; income assistance and disability policy;
- housing policy and residential tenancy law;
- child welfare law and policy;
- policing law and policy;
- health policy related to mental health and substance use; and
- privacy law as it relates to people who live in public space and people who are criminalized as a result of substance use.

- How they are using the funding provided by the Ministry of Health (i.e., $26 million over three years) to increase staffing and care coordination for assisted living residents and to identify the gaps and challenges with the implementation of Bill 16; and
- The current pressure on the health authority for acute home support and home health resources from the assisted living sector, and the potential increased pressure on these resources moving forward.
