“The Myth of Canada: The Exclusion of Internationally Trained Physicians” is a community-engaged research report by Evelyn Encalada Grez, Paola Ardiles Gamboa and Simran Purewal—research associates and investigators at Simon Frase University. The report was published in early 2023 and focuses on the experiences of Internationally Trained Physicians (ITPs) when migrating to Canada, specifically when seeking to practice medicine in B.C. Its recommendations focus on addressing barriers ITPs face in this process.
