On July 6, 2020, The BC Civil Liberties Association, Black Lives Matter –Vancouver, Hogan’s Alley Society, WISH Drop-in Centre Society, and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs submitted an open letter to the Government of British Columbia and the City of Vancouver entitled “Immediate Municipal and Provincial Ban on Police Street Checks”. The letter calls for solutions towards ending systemic discrimination in policing in the province.
